Dear Delphic Families,
Welcome back to Delphic for the 2024/25 school year! As we move forward we wanted to share some significant changes to our staff lineup.
While we will miss her dearly, we are excited to announce that Jami Carver has gotten the Superintendent position for the Yreka Union School District. She will still serve as our Superintendent but most of her work will be behind the scenes and not on site. In her place we have set up a leadership team consisting of Cindy Day (Teacher-in-Charge), Jake Njaa (Office Manager/Community School Coordinator), and Stephen Nacis (Secretary).
Cindy Day is now our Teacher-in-Charge. Essentially this means she is our acting Principal. She will be the point of contact for any issues that might arise or more serious calls home. She will still have her class during the day so any meetings with her will have to take place after 3pm.
Jake will no longer be the SAFE Coordinator. The duties will be shared between Miranda Martinez and Kelly Marshall. Both were here last year and working in similar roles, so the transition of leadership has been seamless. The Community School Coordinator position is a completely new grant program that our school has been approved to receive funds for. This is a state issued grant that all of the money is specifically allocated to and can’t be used in other avenues. Much of the standards and goals of the CS grant align with our SAFE program. Much of this work is geared towards services after school.
Our 3-5 classroom has a new teacher, please welcome Britney Ramsden when you see her on Back to School Night! She is a long time parent in this community but is now an employee.
Michelle Jackson has taken on the role of a support aide and will continue to serve our community.
Finally, please welcome our new classroom/SAFE aide, Kiley Wendt! She was hired this year and is eager to get to know and connect with your children.
Back to School Night is on August 29th from 5-6pm. We will be providing a modest hotdog/hamburger dinner for all attendees. Bring the family and have dinner with us as we start this new school year! This will also be the best opportunity for you to meet all our new staff and get to know them. There was an RSVP form link emailed to you, please respond by the end of the day Tuesday, August 27th to help with our food planning.
As we navigate these changes, we want to reassure you that our commitment to providing a supportive and enriching environment for our students remains unwavering. We are confident that together, we will continue to make Delphic Elementary a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us.
Warm regards,
Delphic Leadership Team
